The Institute of Electronics (IE) recently introduced a robotics and instrumentation lab at its Bangladesh Atomic Energy Commission (BAEC). The new lab will provide students with the opportunity to explore and develop their skills in robotics, automation, and control engineering. 

The Robotics and Instrumentation Lab in BAEC will offer students access to the latest technologies in robotics and automation. It is the first of its kind in Bangladesh. It will provide students with an opportunity to learn about cutting-edge advancements in robotics and automation.

The new lab has been designed to meet the demands of the rapidly growing field of robotics and automation. It is equipped with state-of-the-art equipment, including a robotic arm, 3D printers, and electronic instrumentation.

It will also provide a platform for research and development in the field of robotics. The potential for robotics in Bangladesh

Back in 2018, a robot Olympics was held in Bangladesh. For the national phase of that program, 1024 participants from 64 districts nationwide registered.

Robotics has the potential to improve Bangladesh’s public safety by improving infrastructure management, traffic management, and emergency response systems. Robotics can be used in a wide range of industries, from agriculture to manufacturing and healthcare. This can help Bangladesh improve its economic growth and productivity by automating tasks.

  5. Last but not least, if Bangladesh wants to achieve the vision of creating a “Smart Bangladesh” by 2041, it will need the help of robotics. This vision includes leveraging the latest technology to increase access to services such as banking and healthcare, reduce poverty, and create new jobs.

The reasons why universities must introduce robotics departments and labs

As we previously stated, universities must take the initiative to establish specialized departments and robotics in Bangladesh. And there are some strong reasons for this. Because the young generation is the only one who can truly realize the potential of robotics. 

Bangladesh’s Team Monami qualified for the finals at the 21st International Robotics Olympiad in Thailand, which was held in 2019. The team won a magnificent collection of 1 gold, 2 silver, and 6 bronze medals.
